Good day guys, I have a steel column with 155 kN as the axial load. when I tried to design the base plate it was given 18mm thickness, but from my manual analysis i can still go lower than 12kN. is there any error
Are you using Ram Connection? If so, then change the thickness and check the report. Note, in base plate design there are often several optimized parameters like thickness, plate area or dimensions, bolt size, bolt location, etc. so there may be cases where you can improve on one dimension over the optimized design.
