Hi.
I have a steel framed building with a basement condition where braced frames continue to foundation (one level below grade). I don't want lateral loads to go to the rigid diaphragm at grade level as I don't have a reliable load path, so I have disconnected my braced frames from that diaphragm level. See below. Axial loads in the braces (between top and bottom floors) add up. Do you see any issues with this approach? Anything I should watch out for. I am not really concerned about bracing the diaphragm at grade level as I have basement walls all around to support it.
Thank you for your help in advance.
