Adding Templates to Physical Modeler Structure Wizard

In the new STAAD V22 Update 6, a Structure Wizard has been included in the Physical Modeler.  Within the wizard there is a Modular Tank template defined in an .XML file.  I would like to add additional templates to the Structure Wizard, including a modification of the Modular Tank as well as other structures.  Is it possible to do this by creating new .XML files for each?  Is there any tool or reference guide of command structure available to make this process easier?

  • Hello Shaymore,

Yes. You can do that. This feature has been added newly and we are still working on the documentation part. We will supply some guideline soon. To start you can edit the templates.

You can create a copy of the supplied template by right clicking on it as shown below.

It will create a new copy as shown below. You can rename it as per your requirement.

The user created templates are saved in the below location. You can go and check there.

    C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Engineering\STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition\ModelTemplates\Tanks

Once a new template is created you can now edit it and provide your data to modify as per your requirement from edit option.Edit template option will open the .xml which is editable.

Now you can edit it as per your requirement. Try this at your end to start. We will try to put some guideline as soon as possible.
