good day guys, i tried designing this structure and I noticed rcdc is placing a slab where I did not put plate in staad pro ce and it removes some plates
why?
those places without slabs were ignored by rcdc
Slab Detection
RCDC reads the beam and column geometry from both STAAD and E-tabs files. From this geometry it identifies all the enclosed regions within the geometry which could be slabs. This will thus include actual cut-outs and slabs. The regions that are in effect cut-outs can be so defined.

RCDC identifies the slab based on closed polygons.
The close polygons are identified based on the periphery beams.
Due to overlapping of beams there are no close polygons are identified.
RCDC does not read the horizontal plates. It only reads the vertical plates as shear wall if you used parametric modelling for creating those vertical plates.
To design Slab, RCDC detects panels depending on the closed beams available. Now here if you do not model plates and remove the unwanted nodes those were created for plates, the model will be read by RCDC correctly.
If you want to model the plates and want to use the same for design, RCDC FE is the product you should use.
Thanks!
