Hi Team,
The horizontal bracing member which is specified as 'Member Tension' gets designed for compression when IS 800 LSD code is used. But the same member is designed for tension when AISC 360 LRFD is used. Why is this difference? Can someone explain and fix this? I have attached snaps for reference. Without any design parameters, the analysis shows only tension on the member highlighted.
Which STAAD.Pro version are you using? Can you attach that STAAD.Pro model?
I have checked this file in both Connect edition & SS6. Both work the same way. I have attached the .std file for your reference.
