Hi Everyone,
I'm designing a Ground Slab as a Mat Foundation in RAM Concept CONNECT Edition V8 Update 2.
However, the Final Instantaneous Load Deflection Plan of the slab won't show because of the following errors.
It seems that these errors are related to area springs since removing the area springs would make the errors disappear.
Please advise any methods to solve these errors.
Thanks.
Regretfully, this is part of a program issue that was introduced in Version 8 Update 2. It occurs when plotting load history deflections when all of the following occur: (1) area springs modeled and (2) one or more springs are in tension in any iteration. The issue will be fixed in the next release of RAM Concept.
If the area of spring tension is small and located away from the area of critical deflection, you can work around the problem by changing the load combinations referenced by the load history deflection analysis to linear and re-running the load history calculations.
We apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused.
Hi Karl, I experienced this error too. Can you advise when the next release with this bug fix will be available? Thanks
Trent,
The next release of RAM Concept is still a few months away.
In the few models that I have seen that have been affected by the error, the work around noted above produced load history deflections within a millimeter of the deflections that would have been produced with zero-tension combinations. If you would like us to run your model in a pre-release copy of the next version that contains the fix and then share results with you, please send me a direct e-mail.
Dear Karl G this error is still appear in V8 update 4
Please check the installed version again. You can do that by clicking on Help menu - About RAM Concept while working inside Concept.
V8 Update 4 does not exist. The current version is v08.03.00.138 (V8 Update 3). If you do not have that version installed, please download the installer from our Software Download page and then install it.
If you are running v08.03.00.138 and still produce the error, please share your model file using our Secure File Upload and post the file name here after is uploaded.
