Dear sir,
Greetings.
the definition of problem as " A vertical continious beamcolumn frame with RCC Infill Wall (to support earth pressure) supported laterally with main structure frame at slab level"
I am modelling a multi story RC framed structure with a single basement or cellar, and In this model I want to model Retaining wall (with earth pressure as trapezoidal load) with some RCCcolumns monolothically casted (spaced at different intervals )with the wall which is started at foundation, connected at plinth beam and first salb level logitudinally. as breifed in "definition of problem" and as attached in figure.
Now i want to include this in my structure and....
I tried of suface elements with GEN FIXED command but results of earth pressure reaction is abnormal not tallying with manual calculations.
Now I am trying using plate elements, but while meshing, common edges elements of beam and columns also getting splited. but with a hope trying to get satisfied results but mean while, My question is ,
Q1. Can any one suggest best accurate method of solving above problem in STAAD Pro.Q2. I am also doing Responce spectrum analysis to utilize RCC wall stiffness in my model(C+G+5 floors, Zone-II, Important structre ). Let me know Pros & cons of adopting retaining wall stiffness in seismic anaysis for a analytical model.
And also any information or experiance you have or content available to study on topic, "Earth pressure considertaions for columns in a cellar floor structures/buildings and seismic considerations for the same"
Thanks in advance.
