Hi,
I wanted to clarify the output for the seismic provisions joint code check in regards to continuity plate. I am unclear of what the 0.66" under "Tf Prov (in)" is indicating. Do I need a 0.66" thick continuity plate? Also, how is RAM arriving at this 0.66 number? Last question, does this output also show that doubler plates are not required? Thanks for your help.
Perfect, thank you
Tf provided is the column flange thickness. If the column flange thickness was greater than Tf required, then no continuity plates would be needed. We don't size the continuity plates. If a doubler plate was needed that would be called out clearly along with the required thickness.
