How do you model a steel beam framing to the top of a concrete load bearing wall in Staad Pro?
The steel beam is perpendicular to the load bearing wall.
It is easy to do in RSS.
Is there a similar method in Staad Pro?
It looks like you can add nodes to the surface edges that will accept the end of another member.
However, that gives a very odd mesh when read into the analysis model.
There must be a best practices guide somewhere for modeling load bearing walls in Staad Pro.
Yes, the beam must share a common node with the wall in order to transfer the forces correctly. What is so odd with the mesh? Could you attach a screenshot of it?
