HI
AM USING RCDC NEWEST VERSION
WITH COLUMN DESIGN, AM ALWAYS FASCING THIS ISSUE ,
COLUMN DESIGN FAILURE
CRACK WIDHT CHECK NOT SATISIFIED WITH GIVEN RFT
PL HELP TO UNDERSTAND THIS
THANKS IN ADVANCE
YES SIR AM DESIGINING WITH EURO CODE
CRACK WIDTH PERMISSIBLE AS 0.3MM SIR
In EuroCode (EN) Crack Width is 0.2 mm not 0.3 mm.
Try to modify the Cover from 35 mm to 30 mm if not 25 mm in Design Parametres.
Bar arrangement for columns
The bar arrangement for columns is arrived at from the preferred bar spacing defined. The option to define and control number of bars along any edge is also provided. This bar arrangement is used for all interaction chart computations.
Clear Cover
All cover is assumed to be cover to longitudinal reinforcement.
Column Detailing Procedure--------------------------Number of bars in the section and their location (bar arrangement) is arrived at based on the preferred bar spacing defined by user.
Detailing iterations begin with the minimum diameter set by user.
The capacity of the section is computed and checked against forces in each every load combinations.
If required the diameter of bars is increased to arrive at the design diameter.
The actual percentage of reinforcement is check to ensure that the maximum is not exceeded.
If the maximum diameter defined is reached and the column capacity falls short, the number of bars will be increased and the steps 2 to 4 repeated.
The increment in number of bars happens in finite steps. At every step it is ensure that the minimum bar spacing is not crossed.
Once the design diameter has been arrived at optimisation starts.
Optimisation involves computing combination of bars of different diameters to arrive at most optimised design.
In case of lightly loaded columns the design could be satisfied with the minimum bar diameter and preferred number of bars.
In the above scenario the number of bars in the selection will be reduce to optimise the section.
This optimisation will continue till the minimum percentage steel or the maximum bar spacing is reached
