I am currently looking into designing a foundation of the shear wall which is at the basement level and at the end of the wall there are two gravity columns.
My intention at the end is to pick those gravity columns in the foundation of

RE: RAM Foundation to RAM concept for combine footing

So the loads are user defined and they are imported in the RAM concept, but they are not reflecting it in the RAM concept generated Load combination same as RAM SS and hence I had to go for custom load combinations.
So I guess I have to work on the load combination outside of the RAM and import them, but looks like there is no solution for importing the load combination in RAM concept and I need to manually change the load combs?

RE: RAM Foundation to RAM concept for combine footing

If the loads are in some class that is not imported, then you might just re-create the loading manually in Concept. The other options are to change the loading in RAM SS to a type that is imported, or to use the Ram Concept API to create the load data (we don't yet have an API to set up load combinations). For more on that see Help - API Documentation.

RE: RAM Foundation to RAM concept for combine footing

Hi Seth Gutheri,

In line with the above queries,
I was able to transfer the RAM SS structure in RAM Concept,

There is one more thing which I would want to ask you here,

I have defined a Earth Pressure Load (Pressure Load) and some Wind Load (Nodal Load) in RAM SS.

I had to make custom comb for same in RAM SS, I see the Load comb is not imported, nevertheless upon checking I can't even import the excel sheet or copy paste LCs in RAM concept.
Is there a way to import the LCs or copy paste the same in RAM Concept?

because I have more combinations and want to check the effects of same.
Thanks. :)

RE: RAM Foundation to RAM concept for combine footing

Thanks for the Information. The way that wall above reactions are handled is a bit complex, so refer to the wiki I sent for further info.

You can import each concrete elevated slab or mat footing into Ram Concept for slab design.

RE: RAM Foundation to RAM concept for combine footing

Sure, Thanks for your prompt response, I really appreciate it.
Please correct me here If I am wrong, I can see all the reactions which I have in the RAM SS at the base of column/wall will now be available if I do what you suggested?

another question inline to the question I asked.
Can I import all the details of RAM SS into RAM concept all stories and everything, basically replicating the model

or there are some adjustment needs to be done after importing in RAM concept?

RE: RAM Foundation to RAM concept for combine footing

Here's what you want to do.

Model a mat foundation in Ram Modeler (on the lowest framed level type). The mat needs to be big enough to encompass all the supported walls and columns. It needs a "Deck" property to be assigned. The elevation can be adjusted, but that's not a requirement.

Rerun the analysis (Ram Frame, Ram Concrete)

Open Concept and import the Mat (or Launch Ram Concept from the Ram Manager).

For more details on the import see: https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/w/structural_analysis_and_design__wiki/4334/ram-concept-ram-structural-system-integration-tn

Note, if the columns and wall are integral, then I would make them all lateral. I assume that they are all Concrete, but be aware that for steel columns on a mat, only the loads, not the actual columns, come into Concept.

RE: RAM Foundation to RAM concept for combine footing

FYR
