No Axial Load in Horizontal Brace members

Question

I have exported a RAM SS model out for both lateral and gravity. I want to add in plane bracing so I can make the structure more stiff for drift requirements. When I model and run the analysis there is no axial for going into these members. How do I make the horizontal members part of the lateral resistance.

You can model horizontal braces in RAM Structural System also. 
 In either program, these braces will be ineffective if the diaphragm is rigid. Ram Elements model imported from RAM SS have the rigid diaphragm constraint applied at each story by default, so that's probably it. Otherwise check how the load itself is applied. It would need to be applied over a range of members or nodes.
