I'm wondering what the orientation of rebar in a 3 Group Pile Cap is? RAM provides major and minor rebar. Is this rebar perpendicular to each other and the lengths get shorter as they move into the corners? I am use to seeing a mat perpendicular to the major direction and then two mats in the major direction but each skewed so they are parallel to the edge of the triangular pile cap. Basically, I need to know how to detail the rebar in a 3 Group Pile Cap based on what RAM provides. Also, does RAM consider the ends of the rebar hooked?
Like your first picture. We have an enhancement request filed to "Design 3 pile pile caps with tri-directional reinforcement", but that's not been implemented. The bars are not hooked.
