Dear Officer:
I have one question regarding the results in RAM:
In RAM, we can check the option shown below to ask RAM to show the failure part in the RC slab based on the given rebar.
When I checked the results, I saw the results show envelopes (Max and Min) of each response (moment, shear etc). And it shows six envelopes there. But I only defined one load combo (as shown below). May I ask:
1. what are those six envelope in the screenshot below refer to?
2. if I want to close the load patterns, may I ask I just put 0 to all on-pattern and off-pattern factors? Or if there is a place to quickly turn off the load pattern?
3. I had a look at the moment diagram in a design strip, the corresponding maximum at this location is 68.8 k-ft, this value is not shown up in any of the envelopes (all 6), The six envelopes give me either 71.34 or 66.17, but not exactly 68.8 k-ft. May I ask what might be the reason for this?
Thank you very much for your help.
Thank you, Seth.
Even with a single combo and a single load pattern, the program still considers the default and alternate load factors. Essentially this means that live loads can be considered, or ignored, within a single combination when using program generated combinations. Also note, the program will store all the envelop values, but the results from two or more may be identical, duplicate. For more see these snips from the manual below:
