Can anyone here please help me to know how STAAD is calculating effective cover from INPUT DATA -"CLEAR COVER"
Assume Dia of Bar = 16mm
Link Dia = 8mm
Also, Why BENTLEY is using "CLEAR COVER" Terminology as it is nowhere mentioned in INDIAN CODE and it uses " NOMINAL COVER" ?
In STAAD clear cover includes the dia of stirrup. So, the value you provide as clear is measured from the face of main reinforcement. Please see below snap from help file.
As this value is different from nominal cover, we use a different terminology.
