RAM Concept Load Run Down

Hi,

I'm using RAM Concept to do a load run down. I'm trying to use a live load reduction factor in my calculation. This is what I've done below accordance to FAQ but the results reaction still doesn't provide any live load reduction to me.

I've input both live load reducible and unreducible in my model for comparison and they both return the same result to me.

One more question is about bringing down the load from level above for the load run down. Is there any method that we can make this automated, say like writing a code in RAM/Excel in order to capture the reaction provided in the floor above? Sorry if these questions are very basic, I am fairly new to this software. Thanks.

  • The analysis results displayed for individual loads are never reduced. Live load reduction is accounted for in the results displayed for load combination and rule sets that include reducible live loads, however. See the chapter titled "Live Load Reduction Notes" in the RAM Concept Manual (Help - Manual) for details.

In v8.2, we added a python scripting API that could be used to extract results like reactions to Excel for load takedowns. Click here to review the v8.2 release notes, which include more information on the scripting API.

From the images you shared, it appears that you are using an older version of the program that does not include that feature. Instructions for accessing our Software Download page can be found here.
