Hello,
I'm new to RAM Concept. I'm trying to model a simple slab supported on 12" thick walls. As shown on the screenshot, I'm getting an error message stating "strip very narrow." There must be something I'm doing wrong? The error message comes after I attempt to generate the strips. Design file is also attached. The structure summary perspective layer seems to correctly show what I'm going for.
Also, when should the line support be used? If I'm using walls, I shouldn't need to use line support, correct?

The warnings should be eliminated if the span segments are modeled on the wall centerlines instead of the slab edge. If like to use the Visible Objects dialog (View menu - Visible Objects) to display Walls Below on the Mesh Input Layer on the Latitude (or Longitude) Design Spans. This will show the wall centerlines on screen and create snap points to model the span segments at the wall intersections.
If you are using walls, you do not need to model line supports. One application of the line support is modeling lines of symmetry when modeling subsets of large models.
Thanks Karl. I re-drew the model by placing slab edges at centerline of walls. This took care of the error message. I now get another error message when attempting to run the calculation: "Pardiso Internal - Unstable Structure." Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? Updated file is attached.7462.slab3.cpt
There is a lateral instability because the walls are pinned top and bottom and the "Shear Wall" option is unchecked. To eliminate the error, you can do one of the following:
1) Click on Criteria - Calc Options and check the option for "Auto-Stabilize Structure in X and Y Directions."
2) Select the walls, edit their properties, and check the Shear Wall box. This locks the slab to the wall for translation.
