I need a help, i have a tapered steel column as shown, i have attached my model
3683.Structure1.STD
Bottom
Top
when i enter my data but i end get up wrong dimensions as shown on pedestal data
I need your Assistant
For tapered member the program uses the average value.
Here depth = (300 + 1050)/2 =675mm.
The width should be shown as 250mm but it seems to be some other value calculated internally.
Whatever may be the case, both the values are incorrect and needs to be fixed.
Can you please upload the Staad model so that I can log it in our internal system? Also please let me know the version number of STAAD you are using.
What should i do because i want to design pedestal, and if i put small size of column at top,so as to achieve 250 X 300 at the bottom i will be underdesigning my pedestal and footing
I think that is the most relevant workaround you can apply. I don't think 100mm length of column with 250 x 300 size will affect the design as only a little bit selfweight will be less.
However, can you please provide me the full screenshot of the window where you are seeing the steel member outer sizes?
i have decided to divide my column into two parts ,the bottom part i will make it 250 x 300 and the top will be 250 x 1050, i think this will work.I have another issue is there any option in RCDC to place bolts inside like this as shown on the picture below (pinned)?
because if the bolts are outside the plate size has increase in size
