I don't know where does this shear come from, my intermediate columns on my model are failing due to shear , iam using RCDC for Staad Pro Update 5
I have attached my Staad Model and RCDC file
MLANGO WA CHUMA MP.STD
MLANGO WA CHUMA MP-Column-1.zip
Instead of creating a support at level -7.5, you should create a vertical column between levels -9 and -7.5. In this way the beam will be supported as expected.
I tried to model a column, but some of moments and loads were transfered to that column, but in real scenario i dont have a column there, that means i will be underdesigning the interior columns and foundation
You may decrease the size of those columns (i.e. to 200x200 mm) and it will attract less moment.
Thanks, what about the issue of block walls where my beam will rest on top of the wall(strip footing)as shown on the picture above, the software doest not have blocks material, how can i simulate that in Staad pro?
You need to create a custom material with the same properties as your block wall would have.
