My bending moment diagram and moment values are not corresponding with regards to sign convention. The beam below experiences vertical loading, and hence the diagram is correct, depicting a sag moment, with tension at the bottom of the beam:
However, the values in the highlighted segments (see below) are positive whilst the remaining middle segments are negative. The beam has an end release at either end, so moments at the end are zero.
I would expect the values to all be negative, but I'm sure I am not understanding something.
