*** ERROR: NOT ALL JOINTS LIE AT THE SAME FLOOR LEVEL.

Good Morning Everyone,

I am analyzing a conveyor support and housing, The structure is located on a pier thats why I added WL & EL.

However, there is an error on analyzing the file. Please help me. The nodes are on the same level.

Also, please check if their are any possible errors on the structure.

It would be great help for me. Thanks

File is attached here:

PIER CONVEYOR SUPPORT.std

  • Diaphragm #1 is assigned to the nodes of both floors in your model. I think you need to delete that diaphragm and create a new one which should be assigned to the first floor only.

Also, in the input file you need to move the Floor Diaphragm commands before the 1st load case:

    ....
    FLOOR DIAPHRAGM
DIA 2 TYPE RIG HEI 1.46 JOINT 41 TO 50
    CHECK SOFT STORY ASCE7

LOAD 1 LOADTYPE Seismic-H TITLE EX
    UBC LOAD X 1 DEC 1 ACC 0.05
    ....

Finally, those 3 triangle plates are not connected to the columns, as it do not share any common nodes with it, so this leads to the instability. You either need to mesh those plates so that it would share common nodes with the columns or delete it from the model.
