If a building has 2m depth of foundation, then a ground beam follows, after ground beam a column starts, as shown on the attached pdf.

That means in Staad Pro i have to model the same way as shown on pdf ,or where the position of ground beam is i have to put a fixed support? and when it comes to RCDC if i specify the founding depth it will offset 2m below the fixed support or it will offset 2m above the fixed support?
Abhisek M, may you help me about this, still learning and i would like to know the correct way how the software consider this
Your drawing is not very clear to me. Can you please provide a more clear sketch?
This is the scenario, i was asking i have to model like this 2m from fixed support where i will have overburden on top of footing, then ground beam will be 2m from the footing
You can model the columns upto bottom of foundation. In RCDC when you will be doing the foundation design, provide depth of foundation as 2m and the program will consider the weight of soil appropriately depending on the other settings like soil weight, water table, overburden pressure etc.
Thank you
Hello,
Did you manage to model th ground beam? Or is there a tutorial video for ground beam modelling in staad?
