This defect is already reported to the development team (#705991) and it should be addressed soon. Please note that these error messages do not have any impact on the analysis results. If you want to avoid those errors, you can use a Z Offset option in the Plate Offset specification instead of Local or Global options.

RE: Girts in staad

communities.bentley.com/.../Model-with-wall-plates.STD

I then figured I needed to mesh the plates so the loads will go directly to the purlins for the purlin check. When I meshed the plates, I got an error saying the plates are badly shaped. My plates are meshed about 1m by 1m so I don't understand why the error comes up. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem? Thanks.

It can be done using offset option available in STAAD.

I have creates a sample model attached here. please check.

communities.bentley.com/.../5810.Structure2.STD

The offset options are available within specification tab. You need to use beam and plate offset options here.
