Hi there,
I'm modelling a steel frame in STAAD and looking to include c channel girts in the model. The girts (red lines) are to be located on the front face of the column with wall panels (green line) attached as shown below. I plan on using meshed plates for the wall panel and channels from section database as the girts. My question is how do I model both the girts and channel so they are on the face of the column and channel respectively.
Thanks.
Thank you for your response
This is a known issue which occurs when a plate offset using the Local or Global option is applied to the plates. This defect is already reported to the development team (#705991) and it should be addressed soon. Please note that these error messages do not have any impact on the analysis results. If you want to avoid those errors, you can use a Z Offset option in the Plate Offset specification instead of Local or Global options.

Attach the model please.
Hi, I did give it a try and it worked well (no errors) for an unmeshed plate. I then figured I needed to mesh the plates so the loads will go directly to the purlins for the purlin check. When I meshed the plates, I got an error saying the plates are badly shaped. My plates are meshed about 1m by 1m so I don't understand why the error comes up. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem? Thanks.
