Hello,
I am trying to create a concrete mat foundation in staad pro then transfer the results into staad foundation; however, i am having a real hard time getting it to work. Been stuck for a couple of days and i am burning hours. i would love to create this mat foundation in staad foundation however i need multiple radial grids and i do not know how to do that. Attached with this email is my STAAD file. if someone can help me that would be much appreciated.

You can simply import analysed plates from STAAD.Pro to SFA.
The mat boundary needs to be defined in SFA. You don't need to analyse it as the program is getting analysis results from STAAD.Pro
Also refer to the below link on how to design the mat in SFA.

Hi Steven,
Your STAAD.Pro modelling seems to be wrong. There are beam members which are duplicating and also no properties assigned for them. You have applied all the columns loads on supports leaving only self weight load acting on the mat. Also is your mat foundation resting on soil or piles or both ? If your mat foundation is resting on soil, then you need to remove the existing supports and model the spring supports using the Foundation support option in STAAD.Pro and generate the compression only soil springs automatically. Then model all your primary (un real) load cases as REFERENCE LOADS and call them in the actual load cases to form real load cases using the reference and repeat loads. If you don't do this your compression only springs will not converge and hence the analysis results will be eronious. Once you have made the analysis results correct, you can then import the plates along with its results into STAAD.Foundation Advanced as suggested by the past two replies to proceed with the design of the reinforcements in STAAD.Foundation Advanced.
