I am modeling a curved roof and used structure wizard to break the curve into smaller segments of a straight line. I can run the model and get the proper reaction and beam results that I previously estimated. The displacement is much greater than I expected and I believe it is because the beam is broken into smaller segments. (I ran a model with a single beam going to the supports vs the same beam broken into segments. The results were a displacement of 0.4 " vs. 4")
Do I need to assign anything specific to the member for a more accurate displacement?
I see where it went wrong. I had the wrong values and then I was also checking the displacement incorrectly. Thanks
It seems to me that E and G values are off by 1000 in the material definition for the GLT timber materials. Try to increase these values by 1000 and see if the results make more sense.
I recreated the two segments to show the difference in the deflection.

Maybe you should attach those two Staad models so that one can easily check and know what is happening
