I have a concrete building with roof at different level acting as a rigid diaphragm. I am getting less building weight (7000kips) in RAM frame compared (10000 kips) to vertical reaction summary for dead load in RAM concrete analysis. II have hand calculated building weight and it's closer to vertical reaction summary from RAM concrete. Is there any way to find out what is being considered in building weight calculation or is there any way to find out breakdown. TIA!!!
Thank you, this was really helpful.
In Ram Structural System the mass loads are defined independently from the dead loads, so they need not be the same. If they are all entered the same there are a few other factors like the splitting of the column and wall mass from adjacent stories (RAM Manager - Criteria - Self-Weight) and the ground level setting in Ram Frame.
