I am getting the message "attempted an unsupported operation" while accessing the design checks tab in the beam design criteria. What does this mean?
Hello,Design Check/Forces tab is used to select sections of the code that the user may want to include or ignore during the design process, and the origin of gravity forces on lateral members. • Include Torsional Capacity code check per ACI 318 99/02 Sec 11.6.1 - When selected the section of the code is checked and if the requirements are not met a Design Warning is generated • Include Deep Beam code check per ACI 318 99/02 Sec 10.7.1 & 11.8.1 - When selected the sections of the code are checked and if the requirements are not met a Design Warning is generated. For more details please see the following link (Deep Beam Design)

I have not seen an invalid operation there. Are you able to change the settings from using Ram Frame forces to Ram Concrete, or does the error stop you? Is it file specific? If it's a general problem affecting all models then I would start be reinstalling.
It is presenting the same error in other files as well. I reinstalled the program and still get the message. I can’t save any changes on that tab.
It's working fine for me in version 17.03.01.50 (the latest). I get a message
---------------------------Warning---------------------------Changing a Design Criteria will invalidate the current concrete column design.Columns that are frozen will maintain their design and will be checked against the new criteria.
Do you want to continue?
Yes = Change criteria and invalidate design. No = Do not change criteria. Maintain current design.---------------------------but that's no problem.
If you are using the latest and still can't make changes, I suppose I could change your file for you. Or another user in your office could try.
Seth, it appears that this is a recurring error within the Concrete Beam Design Criteria dialogue box. Without any attempt to change the default settings, once the user reaches the design checks/forces tab any attempt to open other tabs or accept the settings causes this error. The only option is to cancel. We are running the most current version and have checked for this error in other models and on other computers.
