Hi,
In the design of footings against shear and moments, we determine the volume of pressure underneath the critical section. How does SFA compute this when there is a negative pressure? Does it redistribute the pressure so all corners have positive pressures or does it simply ignore the negative pressures?
negative pressure is not ignored, there will be loss of contact in your footing
You can pass through this link,i hope you will understand that concept,i also had the same issue and Aswathi A and Kris Sathia they assisted me

When there is negative pressures under the footing, the program sets stress values in uplift zones to zero and calculates new values elsewhere for the revised equilibrium condition. Refer to Eurocode Example 2 in the verification manual for the steps.
