Hi All,
I am trying to model multiple loads along my composite beam. Can I place my loads not on the beam, but between the beams on the slab? I am still very new and not familiar with the software.
Thanks!
To put the load directly on the slab, you would need to model the slab by using plate elements. If you need to model the slab on the beam, then you can use offset command for the plates. Also, when modeling a slab using plates, those plates need to be meshed.
Thanks for the help Modestas. Do you know of any good guides or tutorials for plate elements and how to mesh them?

Thank you Modestas! If I am modeling the plate elements as my slab will the program still execute the slab as though it is a composite slab? If so how?
The program will consider the concrete slab connected to the steel beam below it. However, the beam and the plates must shear the the common nodes so that the proper loads transfer between the beam and the slab would exist.
How do I ensure that the beam and plates shear the common nodes? Is there a check for this?
