Is it possible to define a Group which is composed from other Group definitions?
For example:
START GROUP DEFINITION
MEMBER
_+X_PLAT_BR_OUT 10 TO 20
_+X_BODY_BR_OUT 20 TO 30
_COMBINED _+X_PLAT_BR_OUT _+X_BODY_BR_OUT
END GROUP DEFINITION
Hello Darrell,
This is not a method documented or advised to do. It may or may not work. I would like to know why you are trying to club different groups?
You can create a new group containing all the members from the other 2 groups. In this case you may write like below,
_COMBINED 10 to 20 21 to 30
Hello Abhisek,
Thanks for the suggestion. I am aware of that. The method you have suggested would be significant extra work since I already have the members grouped. The purpose of combining the definitions would be to reduce the number of commands. For example, OFFSET can only have (1) Group reference. So I have (24) OFFSET calls. By combining Groups I could reduce that to (8) calls.
