Hello,
I have run the analysis and design the steel sections but although I have assigned S275 as steel material in physical modeler, when I run the report the design is for S235.
Any idea why this happens?
Thanks
Are you using SGR parameter? If not, please use SGR 1 and check if this helps.
If you still face issue, share the STAAD model.

Hi,
Thanks, this solved the issue but I'm wondering why should I use the SGR parameter since I have assigned the grade of steel to physical modeler. It seems doing the same job again. Is it because according to eurocode there are lots of 275N/mm2 capacities?
For euro code SGR is a required parameter to input material grade. If you do not assign SGR it will take the default value i.e. SGR 0, which corresponds to S 235 grade. If you want to use a specific grade, it is advisable to use proper SGR parameter.
Thanks understood
thank you, where can i get the full description of this i would love to read it so as to increase Staad knowledge
