Is there a way to confirm the loads that are imparted from a stub cantilever gravity beam into its supporting column, and can we confirm that this is what RAM does in the steel column design module? My office was reviewing a couple of cantilevers off of columns in a composite deck system and couldn't verify that the moments from the cantilever were making their way to the column. A suggestion for an update to the program would be to provide in the steel column design module a load layout similar to what is shown in the steel beam design module VU tab. A simple check to make sure that the system is accounting for the loads into the column.
The column is a gravity steel column? Since there are potentially moments from the opposite side due to eccentricity I guess it can be tricky to resolve. You could set the column eccentricity to 0" and turn off skip loading to help simplify the design output. Alternatively if the column is lateral then it should show up in Ram Frame - Report - Gravity loads.
The columns are a mix of lateral and gravity. The loads do show up in Frame for the lateral models, however can we confirm the same for the gravity columns in some way other than making them all lateral?
