I would like to know how to create a proper modelling for basement part, where we have columns and retaining walls as shown on the attached picture below
The correct modelling will be to model the plates from the center of one column to another which is 4170mm from the drawing or it is from the face of one column to another which is 3940mm?
You can model the plates from center of he columns and use plate offsets.
If i use parametric model and i choose to model from center of the column,my column will be segemented into smaller parts,after offseting the plates,do i have to merge the segmented parts of the columns or it has to remain in segments?
Columns must be segmented as merging the columns nodes will lead to improper beam-plate connectivity.
