Custom connection template not visible

Question

Hi, 
 I have created custom moment connection template in the connection design tab of STAAD Pro V8i Connect Edition Update 10. After creating the new item and moving it to moment connection database, it is not displayed or available for assigning the template to selected joints. Can you suggest a work around for this?

It appears that this is a known issue which will be addressed in the upcoming STAAD.Pro CE V22 version. This issue is caused by 2 unnecessary connection templates - "Moment End Plate BCF 2col.con" and "Moment End Plate BS 2col.con". As a workaround, you may delete these templates from these folders: 
 C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Engineering\STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition\RamConnection\Database\Connections\United States 
 and 
 C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Bentley\Engineering\STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition\Default\RamConnection\ Database\Connections\United States 
 Once these templates are deleted, the custom connections should be added fine.

Have you selected the "Optimize" option when creating the template? If yes, it will become a smart connection and you should look for the same under smart connection table.

This issue has been addressed in the STAAD.Pro CE version 22.11.00.156. Are you adding the custom connection to the database? Also, if the custom connection was selected as Optimizable, then you should be looking for it in the Smart Connections, else - Basic Connections.

When you create a Table, you select the specific design code. So that custom connection will be added into the database of that design code. In your case (as per your screenshot) that custom connection should be in the AISC MEP database.
