Does RAM Concept have a cutoff for what it considers a "thick" mat foundation when it designs required reinforcement? I was working on a 5x5x2 spread footing design (no loads) and the preset program minimum reinforcement requirements design rule forces 6#6 each way top and bottom of the footing. Based on ACI 318-19 provisions this is the only location I could find any mention of steel area greater than the minimum flexure/shrinkage of 0.0018Ag.
No, we don't change any logic based on the slab thickness. Some of the things that affect min rebar design besides the 0.0018 ratio are partial development circumstances and max bar spacing.
