Hey,
I am using ram connection CS- HSS end plate column splice to design my splice with AISC code.
In the geometry section, it limits thickness of end plates to maximum 1in. I wonder what's the reason behind this.
My column is PIP299x14. Plate will be in Q235 material.
Thanks.
Hello Abhisek, i know this is an old thread but i noticed in the latest version of ram connection, that even though the description mentions as 'End Plate Shear and Moment Connection' i see only 'Axial' loads... so is it that the moments are resolved towards Axial forces (or) is that that the splice is checked only against Tension/Compression forces? please advise.PDF
Hey Abhisek, I had a hard time upload my cnx file. It allows me to input, but in the design result, it shows warning, and
formula shows tpmax=1.
Hello,
Can you please attach the connection file?
I tried with the same configuration and can use plate thickness greater than 1inch. I tried with even 50mm and it is allowing me.
