 I designed some columns in Ram SS for a particular model. However, the software has specified a baseplate thickness of about 1500mm even though the ultimate load on the base plate summed up to about 109kN. Once I go up to something like 300 N/mm^2 it&amp;#39;s reasonable. There must be a material threshold that causes the design Fy to get rounded down.
