Hi everyone.
I was calculating a joint in RAM Connection, and notice that, from my POV, is a mistake in definition of a and h values for calculation of kv.
In this picture you can see a beam seated on a column, with following dimensions:
Now, the calculation shows that, for kv, considers the value a = 1200 and h = 900.
Now, according to Chapter G, a = clear distance between transverse stiffeners, and h = clear distance between flanges less the fillet at each flange.
As I see, a and h are inverted, and the flange thickness is being neglected.
So, for me, this means that a = 900 - 11 - 11 = 878 mm (depth of column that is the same as distance between stiffeners),
and h = 1200 - 11 - 11 - 8 - 8 = 1,162 mm (clear depth of beam).
So kv would be 13.75-
Am I correct or how should I understand this calculation?
