We performed a steel structure analysis for seismic qualification. The analysis is carried out in STAAD Pro connection edition and STAAD Pro V8i edition. The structural member's design checks are done as per IS 800 : (Limit state design)
Issue is : On the failure beams check, we notice the difference in utilization factor reported in results output in both versions of STAAD.Say in one beam, in STAAD Pro connection edition: utilization factor of the failed beam is 1.004but in STAAD Pro V8i edition: the utilization factor of the same failed beam is 1.512
Kindly clarify why the results are different in different versions of STAAD.

STAAD.Pro V8i is a very old build and not supported anymore. There have been many bug fixes and improvements made to the program over time and it is recommended to upgrade to latest STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition and check if expected design results are obtained or not.
