I analyze my model using ram structural system and design the shear wall using ram concrete but I found out that my shear wall located at transfer level have exceptionally high shear force.
It depends in part whether the shear is coming from gravity loads or lateral loads. In general, you have the stiffness of the wall (E, t, and cracked factors) and the stiffness of the diaphragm that you can adjust. The only other factors are the mesh size and geometry (wall length and story height). Hi Seth, anyway to reduce the shear force for the lateral walls? My transfer slab is modelled as a semi-rigid diaphragm and I've included out-of-plane stiffness for semi-rigid diaphragm with two way decks for lateral loads. In RAM Concrete analysis, I've also tried to ignore wall stiffness on above story. All of these options still does not help to reduce the shear force for walls.
Or can we consider 'enhanced shear' for shear wall design in RAM Concrete, is there any option for it?
