Dear,
In column design as per EN 1992, in calculation of slenderness moment formula used for:
deff,slend= (D'/2)+Is.
This formula should be used in a case that reinforcement arrangement is parallel to the plane of bending (ch. 5.8.8.3(2)).
In a situation that RFT is arranged all around, this formula gives underestimated value of effective depth d'.
i.g. 134mm instead of 245mm (column 300x300, cover 35mm, links 10mm, RFT 20mm).
This will result in higher second order moment (eccentricity e2 is higher).
Can we influence this formula for d?
Any reply please.
Hi,
Pls share the Design calculation report so that we can take it as an example and elaborate more on what we are doing.
We will provide you with the clarification based on the example you share.
Just provide the complete design info provided through report so that it will be better for both of us
Thanks
