I'm trying to understand what the "Reactions" represent in the RAM Retaining Wall Module. At first glance these appear to be the net force that is "left over" after all forces have been applied to the wall (i.e. both active forces - soil pressure, surcharge, etc; and resisting forces, i.e. bearing pressure, passive soils, etc). Is this correct?
Thanks!
That sounds right. If you are curious to know more you can save a copy of the generated .FEM file as a new .retx file and open it in the main program for review (it's a 2D stick model). See also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sl4nJsmkj1Q
I tried this, but I can't save it as an. retx file. Only an .etz file. Then I recieve an error. see below:
If it's a recent version, the extension is .retx. .etz is older. It's the .fem file to rename. I also forgot that we exposed the analytical view right inside the retaining wall module now so you can see the FEM model and reactions right there.
