I have an issue in chord and branch connection.
in the calculation of the gusset compression strength the gusset length was wrongly assigned in the (Kl/r) equation which affect the strength value.
in the calculationK*L/r>25>>>1.2*473.6[mm]/2.887[mm]>25>>>True
however the L value should be 150mm
Check this recent post: https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/f/ram-staad-forum/236671/ram-connection-bolted-brace-limit-state
even if we use this method the total length between the support and the face of branch is less than the considered length.
The images are too small for me to tell much. Can you send the actual .rcnx file? It also helps to know what version you are using and what design code.
the design file is @ https://we.tl/t-wkjYqaLxZX
i don't know how to attach it
The program here is looking at the splice plates. The distance from the bolts to the end of the branch is ae1 = 40mm. The setback is 12.7mm. So the program uses 40 + 12.7 + 40 = 92.7mm as the length of the splice plate central section. K is 0.65 (assume fixed-fixed behavior). r is based on the splice plate thickness. Note, there is a relationship between the upper gusset plate height LV that is important for maintaining edge distances.
