Hey everyone,
We are working on a P-T slab design in RAM concept and are encountering this situation where we have two models(Models 1 and 2 attached below) with exact same parameters (Loading, slab thickness, concrete str, Tendon layout etc.) but Model-2 is giving out higher deflection values for load combinations like Self-Dead, Other dead, D+L combinations and others. I wanted to post a question in the forums as I have not encountered this issue before. The column and wall reactions are similar but the deflections are varying significantly. To my knowledge, I have checked the possible errors that I might have committed but to no avail. Any help is appreciated on this matter.
Model 1- test.cptModel 2 -test.cpt
Thanks,
In Model 1, the columns above are defined with "Fixed Near" checked and the "Mesh Slab Support Region" option used with a Stiffness Factor of 10 (see image below).
In Model 2, the columns above are pinned and the stiffened support zone feature is not used.
The different properties for the columns above is the main cause of the different deflections.
Also, in both models, there are several tendon out of slab or section errors. And, it appears that the tendon profiles are not defined correctly.
