Hi,
Can you please confirm if RAM Connection checks pinned base plates in tension, specifically the "design capacity of steel base plate" to ASI Design Guide 7 Section 10.1.
There does not appear to be this check in the results for this design module.
Thanks
Hello Vincent,
Yes, RAM Connection includes the Section 10.1 in the Base plate design. Please check the Yielding in tension interface design strength. Below a screenshot of the capacity reported and expanded showing equations. Please make sure the connection is under tension to show the design check.
Hi Carlos,
Please see the results for my base plate tension check below. Note that the results check anchor uplift (confirming I have inputted the axial load with the correct sign). However, RAM has only checked the base plate for "yielding at the bearing interface" (utilization of 0 as no compression), but has omitted the "yielding at tension interface". Do you know why this may be?
I am using version 13.8.
Vincent, could you please attach the model, let us give it a quick check.
Hi Carlos, I am unable to upload the file. Can I send it to you via personal message /email?
Hello Vincent, we got your model, we found a glitch in the base plate report for the AS4100 when several load conditions are used. In the case of your model, the load cases with zero loads are preventing the capacity to be reported correctly. This is already fixed and will be included in v13.9 to be released in a couple of weeks.Meanwhile, as a workaround please deleted the zero loads and keep only the load condition with loads. Then press ok and check the report, you will see the yielding at tension interface being reported.
