I have a staad model I built programmically. The file opens and performs a successful analysis from within STAAD but when I try to pull member end forces from a c# program I'm developing the forces are different? I also modifed one of the simple openstaad excel samples and its doing the same thing with my staad file. The numbers are not believable nor could differing units be any explanation (the pulled numbers are practically zero or infinity).
The link to staad is pulling correct load cases, joint count etc, but the anaylsis output is not good. The openstaad output is correctly labelling the load cases so I'm sure I'm asking for and comparing the same load case.
I have "PERFORM ANAYLSIS" in the input Staad file and I have also tried the "AnalyzeStructure" method from my OpenStaad object before asking for MemberEndForces.
I've tried this with both STAAD Pro 2006 and v8i.
I have to be missing something simple.
So, it appears that the presence of the moving loads was causing the problem. Could you send me the original STAAD file (with the moving load) and the STAAD file that you have modified to be without the moving load? Also, will it be possible for you to send me the openstaad excel sample you have used? You can send the items to Bentley Support.

Hi
Notice that the units in OpenStaad results object are independent of the ones you have in your model. I think they are kip /in
I hope it helps.
This is the kip in issue.
Now about the moving loads!
I have the same problem.
Add moving load OpenStaad reports "0" ZERO values for all other.
Remove it and it is all OK.
Hate this software;-)
