Hi,
For the program-defined shear ties, RAM has given me a capacity < max demand yet it is suggesting that there is no failure. Please advise.
In that table, RAM Concept is summarizing the results of several different design envelopes that may have different shears and moments. The Max Demand is the largest shear from all envelops considered. The Max Capacity is the smallest capacity calculated for all envelopes considered. I believe the values marked in the image do not apply to the same envelope. In other words, the max demand associated with the envelop with the 487.2 kN shear capacity is actually smaller than that value, and the max capacity that coincides with the 536.3 kN demand is actually larger than that value. See the web page below for more discussion:

In AS 3600-2018, the strut angle is dependent on the forces and moments acting on the section. So, if the design forces and moments are calculated, a different shear capacity may be calculated for different envelopes.
