Hi guys, can someone help me. I have followed the RAM Concept manual to design a mat foundation based on British Standard. But the problem is i cannot find the column and middle strip moment. My moment also turned to be zero value. I already checked my units, all in m and kN. Can someone help me, my client want the design as soon as possible. Here i attached the raft foundation file. If you are viewing a plan which plots moment contours and do not see contours displayed, try opening the Plot Settings dialog (right click menu > Plot or View Menu > Plot), immediately close the dialog by clicking OK, and see if the information is displayed.
For strip moments, I recommend creating moment demand plots on the Strength Design Layer following the step-by-step instructions outlined in the manual excerpt below:
I have tried to see the moment from the max moment contour plan, but the values generated are very small and mostly zero. May i know why, i already checked my design numerous time, all the units have follow the standard british code.
One reason is that the walls above the floor act as stiffening elements (similar to beams) and the moment contours represent the moment in the slab elements only and exclude any bending moments in the walls. Try removing the walls and see if the moments increase and match the values that you are expecting.
