In multiple models, I am modeling concrete walls as surfaces in the physical model. Then at some point - I think when converting it to the analytical model - some of the surfaces changes to regions. The regions appear to have reduced input capabilities. Should I be concerned about these seemingly random changes?
Update: it doesn't appear to replace the surface, but only exists for certain surfaces. Perhaps from applying hydrostatic loads?
Surface is a planar, structural object specific to the physical model. Surfaces are meshed automatically by the program and imported into the Analytical Modeler as Plate Elements.
A surface region is a polygonal area of a surface which vary in material properties, thickness or loading.
Yes, due to hydrostatic pressure the regions on the surfaces could be created automatically to apply varying load on the specific parts of the surface.
